Why study design at Fachhochschule Dortmund?

The design course at Fachhochschule Dortmund(Opens in a new tab)  is a project-based course. The projects range from experimental design, be it with the computer, the brush, the camera or the microphone, to professional cooperation with partners from culture, Business Studies and science.

The close networking of design, technology, science and key skills results in practical, multi-layered student work. Film shoots in the professionally equipped film studio, model and prototype construction in our workshops, work in one of the best-equipped photo studios at German universities, the professional design and realization of book projects or the complete soundtrack for films in the surround sound studio are just as possible as collaboration in the organization of scientific symposia or in the realization of large international exhibition projects. Our listed building, which is open around the clock, has state-of-the-art computer workstations, a well-stocked library and a video archive with over 35,000 films.
