Smart Energy and Systems

At the Smart Energy and Systems symposium, renowned speakers from science and practice will discuss the future of digitalization, artificial intelligence and energy supply. The focus will be on technical developments and their economic and social implications.

Since 1999, the Smart Energy and Systems symposium has been an annual fixture in the program of events at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and has been part of Dortmund Digital Week for the past few years. With renowned speakers from science and practice, it makes a decisive contribution to advancing the topic of "Digitalization, Artificial Intelligence and Energy Supply". Technical developments in science and research as well as the economic and social implications of innovative energy supply systems will be highlighted.

The specialist event was created in the course of the diverse, initial research projects on the topics of smart metering, signal processing systems and methods of signal processing at the Institute of Communication Technology (IKT), headed by Prof. Dr. Ingo Kunold from the Faculty of Information Technology.

The specialist event is primarily aimed at managers and specialist staff from the fields of energy and environment, automotive, smart homes/buildings and neighborhoods as well as companies in the ICT sector, science and research. It also enables interested Master's students to engage in dialog with company representatives and future employers as part of the RMS; joint projects, whether as part of project work for students or joint research projects, can result from this.
