Our services are aimed at students, teaching staff, employees and alumni of Fachhochschule Dortmund. Whether you are just starting out or are already in the middle of your start-up journey, the start-up service offers you support, advice and opportunities to network and turn your ideas and projects into reality.

Innovation management

In the Innovation Management course, you will learn how innovation projects are initiated and then become familiar with the various phases and processes of innovation development. After the workshops, you will be able to systematically generate and evaluate ideas and know how creative solutions are developed and transformed into concepts. You will gain an understanding of strategic innovation management and the importance of an innovation culture in companies.

Start-up consulting

In our start-up consulting service, we support you in the areas of start-ups, company formation and self-employment. Together, we explore your business idea in terms of its feasibility and benefits for customers and the market. This includes individual advice in which we understand your business concept and develop solutions in personal discussions.

Through a thorough market analysis, we identify opportunities and risks in order to develop a sound basis for decision-making with you. We actively support you in drawing up a convincing business plan and identifying suitable funding programs. We also offer you start-up and career coaching, which you can complete with a certificate (career coaching).

We build up your entrepreneurial skills, enabling you to recognize and exploit opportunities, create value and deal successfully with uncertainty and change. This is a key factor in dealing confidently with today's complex and dynamic world, where innovation, creativity and problem solving are essential.

Our guidance counseling helps you to develop clear goals, overcome uncertainties and embark on a successful path to your personal future.

Conception, organization and implementation of events for all faculties of Fachhochschule Dortmund

We are pleased to present our services in the field of conception, organization and implementation of events on the topics of start-ups, self-employment and entrepreneurship for all faculties of Fachhochschule Dortmund. Nine steps to founding a company

The event consists of a kick-off and four practical workshops that build on each other. The basics of setting up a business are taught using a resource-oriented approach. This means that the focus is on your motivation, skills and abilities when developing business ideas.

Between the individual sessions, participants are required to complete various tasks. To pass the course, an idea paper, a short business plan including a financial plan and a presentation in the form of a pitch deck must be prepared. The presentation must also be given in front of a panel of experts on the last day of the course.

Learning objectives

Identify your own (start-up) potential, generate ideas and turn them into business models, acquire and apply entrepreneurial skills, convincingly present and pitch your own idea, take responsibility for your own career planning.

Registration takes place via the study portal and is offered at the beginning of the semester. The number of participants is limited to 30 (course number 99664).
