Knowledge market: Sustainable building and renovation

Information

How can you really build and renovate sustainably? This question is the focus of the Ruhr University Alliance's knowledge market on Saturday, January 28, 2023, at the VHS Herne in the cultural center. The target group is anyone who is currently tackling construction or renovation projects.

Future-oriented construction methods with wood-concrete composite systems, climate friendliness through clay building materials and the question of what exactly sustainability means in building materials: three of the six lectures on the program for all interested citizens from 11 a.m. will deal with these topics. Expert speakers from associations, Business Studies and universities will provide impetus with presentations and will be available throughout the day in discussion rounds and as direct contacts. The aim of the event is to present current possibilities to individuals interested in construction and renovation and at the same time to offer practical approaches to implementation.

The event is free to attend. The following schedule is planned:

  • from 10.30 a.m.: Admission
  • 11.00 a.m.: Welcome followed by the first block of presentations and discussions
  • 12.45 p.m.: Lunch break with the opportunity to exchange ideas
  • 13.30: Second block of presentations and discussions
  • 3.30 p.m.: Wrap-up with summary and questions from the audience in a large group
  • 16.30 hrs: End

Accompanying the event, there will be information stands and opportunities for exchange on topics such as funding opportunities for private households, company and product presentations and presentations of research activities.
