About the person

Simon Paulus studied architecture at the TU Braunschweig. Since completing his doctorate on the architecture of medieval synagogue buildings in the Ashkenazi region, Simon Paulus has been involved in research, teaching and exhibition projects on Jewish sacred buildings up to the present day. He has also worked on the travels of architects and the question of knowledge transfer in the building industry in modern times. Simon Paulus is currently project coordinator of the DFG project "Digitization and indexing of the individual graphic sheets of the Albrecht Haupt Collection" (GESAH) at Leibnitz University Hannover. He has also worked as a research assistant at the Institute for the History of Building and Urban Planning at the TU Braunschweig and the Institute for the History of Architecture at the University of Stuttgart. He has also held teaching positions at the University of Lüneburg and Münster University of Applied Sciences, where he held the Chair of Architectural History in 2011.
