Oliver Seidel Dipl. Ing. Architekt FH I Partner graduated in architecture from Münster University of Applied Sciences. After working in Dresden and Schwerin, he ran an architectural practice in Münsterland from 1998, focusing primarily on low-energy houses and timber construction. In Basel, he has been working on projects in existing buildings since 2000. At the end of 2007, he was employed by Baubüro in situ and implemented Switzerland's first Minergie-P refurbishment of an apartment building in Basel.

In the Lysbüchelareal in Basel, he developed and built a façade around 100 meters long and 10 meters high from used building materials. His focus is on developing projects from used materials and components.

He has been a partner and member of the management of Baubüro in situ since 2012. He shared a guest professorship with Kerstin Müller for 2 semesters on the subject of "circular construction" and "building with used material" under the name "De- and Re-Construct better! at the Chair of Sustainable Construction with Professor Dirk E. Hebel at KIT in Karlsruhe.
