The Kvanefjeld raw material deposit in the south of Greenland has been intensively explored since the 1950s. While the former colonial power Denmark initially searched for uranium, the focus of international companies has been on rare earths since the mid-2000s.

In the middle of a geopolitical conflict over these resources, which are important for various future technologies, lies the small town of Narsaq, whose inhabitants have been resisting mining for decades. They fear that the mining project would have a lasting impact on their way of life and the environment.

The exhibition takes a look at the exploration history of the raw material deposit, current developments and takes an experimental approach to the unique geology of the region.
