"Hey Baby" in the Nordstadtgalerie

Information

Illustration from the guidebook "Hey Baby"

"Hey Baby" is the name of a new guidebook for parents-to-be that Leonie Ioannidis, a communication design student at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts, has produced as her bachelor's thesis. On Wednesday, April 12, 2023, she will present her work from 7.30 pm in the Nordstadtgalerie. A two-week exhibition showing excerpts from her book will start there at the same time.

Leonie Ioannidis studied communication design.

With easy-to-understand wording and vivid illustrations, Leonie Ioannidis explains the most important topics that play a role in the exciting time of pregnancy - from preparation to labor to birth. The book launch will be accompanied by Prof. Dr. Stefanie Kuhlenkamp from the Faculty of Applied Social Studies with a contribution on simple language, and Sabine Janowski, an employee of the "Early Help" department at the Youth Welfare Office, will also report on examples from practice.

The book "Hey Baby", including posters with selected texts and images, will be on display until Wednesday, April 26, 2023. The Nordstadtgalerie will also make parts of the exhibition visible via social media. On the last day, author Leonie Ioannidis will once again be on site in person from 7.30 pm to 9 pm.

On Tuesday, April 18, 2023, there was a free "Yoga for pregnant women" workshop with midwife Christina Ioannidis, the mother of student Leonie.
