Award of certificate: Economy for the common good in Dortmund

Fast facts

Information

Fachhochschule Dortmund is the first university in North Rhine-Westphalia to be certified for the common good. At the end of a labor-intensive balancing process, in which many employees of the UAS from teaching, technology and administration have been intensively involved, the certificate is now being awarded.

In addition to Fachhochschule Dortmund, eight regional companies also completed their accounting process in 2023 and will be presented with the certificate on January 18, 2024 in the kostBar on the Emil-Figge-Straße campus. The Economy for the Common Good Balance Sheet is a central instrument of an alternative economic approach that aims to bring social and ecological values into the focus of economic decisions. The City of Dortmund is actively committed to a sustainable economy based on the fundamental values of the common good. The balancing process was actively accompanied and supported by the city's economic development department.
