Diversity Survey for "audit hochschule&vielfalt" — You can still participate through August 31, 2026
The university-wide survey on diversity will remain online until August 31, 2026. It was launched as part of the “hochschule&vielfalt” audit process, and preliminary results were factored into decisions regarding the action plan.
The survey is completely anonymous and takes about 10 minutes to complete.
The survey results will be published exclusively in aggregated form, so that no connections can be made between individual respondents and their responses. The information provided in the free-text fields will be published exclusively “clustered” by content categories. Individual responses will be treated as strictly confidential and will not be reproduced anywhere. The data processing register for the collected data is available for download [here(Opens in a new tab) ] on the intranet.

The retention period for the survey data is April 30, 2031.

Children's University Events During Summer Break
Your Own Robot I August 7 or August 8, 2026
Together, we’ll build your very own little toothbrush robots, and afterward, in a kid-friendly mini-lecture, we’ll talk about what robots are and where we encounter them in our everyday lives. The focus will be on fun, creativity, and gaining a basic understanding of technology.
PLEASE NOTE: The session on August 7, 2026, is specifically for girls. On August 8, 2026, both girls and boys are welcome to participate.
Creative Lab: 3D Printing I August 28 or August 29, 2026
How does a 3D printer actually work? Together, we’ll explore the exciting world of 3D printing. You’ll design your own personalized keychain and watch as it’s printed layer by layer right here on the spot. You’ll also get to get creative with 3D pens and make your own little works of art or figures. Plus, we’ll give you a short, kid-friendly introduction to how 3D printing works and where this technology is used in everyday life.

Another "Total E-Quality" Award for Fachhochschule Dortmund
Die Fachhochschule Dortmund has been awarded the TOTAL E-QUALITY designation for the second time for the years 2026 through 2028.
The award ceremony will take place in October.
With its TOTAL E-QUALITY award, the association Total Equality Deutschland e.V. honors organizations in business, academia, and government that are particularly committed to gender and diversity equality within their institutions.

Online Presentation: Report on Anti-Queer Sentiment in North Rhine-Westphalia 2025
The North Rhine-Westphalia Reporting and Information Center on Anti-Queer Violence (MIQ NRW) is dedicated to reporting, documenting, and analyzing incidents of anti-queer violence in North Rhine-Westphalia. On July 13, MIQ NRW will publish its annual report for 2025. The findings of the status report will be presented via Zoom on July 22 from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Recommendations for action against anti-queer hostility will also be presented during this session. In the discussion that follows, participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about the findings.

CEWS Journal 2026/02
The latest issue of the CEWS Journal, featuring research findings, current developments, and policy debates surrounding gender equality in the academic system, has been published. The issue highlights the article “‘Good Mother’ and/or ‘Good Female Researcher’? Role Conflicts, Guilt, and Retraditionalization Among Academic Mothers” by Okka Zimmermann and Jule Marie Lilje. In addition, sections such as “News from Gender Studies” and “Funding for Women in Academia” present numerous new initiatives and studies relevant to gender equality.
