Open Nordstadtgalerie

Published

The room installation made of transparent film provides a clear view.

The "Open Nordstadtgalerie" was launched in February to take up requests and ideas from outside. On four consecutive Thursdays, the Nordstadtgalerie invited interested visitors to exchange ideas.

For more than ten years, Fachhochschule Dortmund has been active with the Nordstadtgalerie as part of the "Hochschule vor Ort" at Bornstraße 142. A dedicated student team uses workshops and exhibitions to address current social issues ranging from urban life to academic debates. The Nordstadtgalerie reviewed the last ten years with an elaborate spatial installation. A photo wall consisting of images from past events was stretched across the room - and also served as a source of inspiration for new ideas. Visitors had the opportunity to record their own suggestions for themes and event ideas in an online survey.

The Galeri3D can be seen on the iPad.

Visitors also had the opportunity to click through the new Galeri3D (Opens in a new tab) exhibition. As a technical 3D reconstruction of the Nordstadtgalerie, Galeri3D complements current exhibitions. As a virtually accessible offer, it is aimed in particular at people who are unable to visit the Nordstadtgalerie on site. Through the new Galeri3D exhibition, offers from the Hochschule vor Ort, or HvO for short, are presented in artistic form on a roller coaster. At this point, we say: Have a good ride!

With Hochschule vor Ort, Fachhochschule Dortmund is committed to assuming social responsibility in addition to research and teaching. The program is based on two pillars: the StudyScouts and the Nordstadtgalerie.
