The UIC team

IDiAL employees work on innovative digitalization technologies and strategies in the areas of information and communication systems, efficiency technologies and economic innovation. The UIC pools these skills and makes them available to companies, municipalities and society.

Prof. Dr. Sabine Sachweh

Prof. Dr. Sabine Sachweh

Prof. Dr. Sabine Sachweh has been Professor of Applied Software Engineering at Fachhochschule Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts since 2006 and heads the UIC. She is co-spokesperson of the advisory board "Digitalization and Education for Older People" and a member of the scientific advisory board of the Federal Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs on the subject of employee data protection as well as the Federal Government's Data Ethics Commission.

From a professional perspective, she deals with technical aspects of the digital transformation and its impact on Business Studies and society. She advises companies and local authorities on these topics.

Philipp Heisig

Philipp Heisig

Philipp Heisig holds an M. Sc. in Business Informatics and is doing his doctorate at IDiAL in the field of networked mobility. He has been involved in numerous European research projects in the automotive sector and is a compitter in the open source projects Eclipse APP4MC and Kuksa. His other research interests include model-driven software development, cloud computing and software product lines. In addition to research, Philipp is also active as a lecturer in the areas of software engineering and innovation-driven software development.

Marcel Mitas

Marcel Mitas

Marcel Mitas has a B.Sc. in applied computer science. He is completing his Master's degree part-time at IDiAL in the field of model-driven software development. Through his involvement in various research projects at IDiAL, including in the field of smart city ecosystems, he has several years of experience in various IT disciplines.
