A place where members of the university community feel at home, can grow, and contribute in a variety of ways. A place that fosters cohesion, creativity, and social engagement. Based on this understanding, many projects and initiatives have been developed—both within the faculties and across university operations—and implemented at the university. The new working groups on “Energy” and “Social and Environmental Sustainability,” established by the Corporate Social Responsibility Office (CSR Office), bring together expert knowledge and commitment to initiate and implement further important structures and measures at the university. This is a process that aims to engage all members of the university community through a bottom-up approach and is, overall, participatory in nature.
Sustainability Week
Together with TU Dortmund, the Studierendenwerk Dortmund, and the student councils of the Fachhochschule Dortmund and TU Dortmund, we are once again hosting a Sustainability Week this year. With a diverse program, we’d like to invite you to discuss, shape, and celebrate the topic of sustainability.
Sustainability Week Plus
As part of the new event series “Sustainability Week Plus,” the CSR Office, the Sustainability Office at TU Dortmund, the Dortmund Student Services Organization, and the student councils of both universities are collaborating to offer sustainability-related events even outside of Sustainability Week.
Working groups on sustainability
All members of the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts (HS), whether students or staff, are cordially invited to our regular working groups. Currently, there are two thematic working groups focusing on energy and social and environmental sustainability. In these working groups, we engage in dialogue to develop new ideas on how we can make the Fachhochschule Dortmund even more sustainable. The working groups have been in existence since early 2022 and have already contributed to several projects.
Soffi - the mobile sustainability office
Soffi stands for Sustainability Office and is a mobile construction trailer with a multifunctional room. With the construction trailer, we would like to be available for exchange and design on the three campuses of Fachhochschule Dortmund. The trailer serves as an office for the CSR Office and the Green Office of Fachhochschule Dortmund.
