The Dortmund Competence Center China (DoCoChi) is offering a calligraphy course to students at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts during this year's International Week (Opens in a new tab) .
The art of calligraphy requires a specific brush technique; each Chinese character is drawn in a specific sequence of strokes. Even the most experienced calligrapher will need a few attempts to write a saying or poem beautifully and without mistakes. Practice makes perfect, which is why Chinese children learn calligraphy as early as elementary school. This course is designed to arouse interest in Chinese calligraphy and stimulate students' creativity. Writing calligraphic characters is also very relaxing!
The calligraphy course takes place in the Faculty of Architecture and is suitable for beginners.
