Featured Topics
In addition to the Math HelpDesk, which is open daily, special topic sessions are offered shortly before the exam period. In two- to three-hour workshops, students from all faculties can thoroughly review relevant material to prepare for their exams.
Workshop: "Do You Need Math for This?"
In the workshop “Do You Need Math for This?”—which focuses on college admission requirements and mathematical skills—students learn about the importance of mathematics in college.
Mathematics Bridge Project
The Fachhochschule Dortmund and the City of Dortmund’s Regional Education Office developed the “Mathematics Bridge Project.” High school students from selected (primarily Dortmund-based) schools are prepared for STEM degree programs by learning and deepening their understanding of the necessary mathematics—including topics beyond the standard school curriculum. To this end, tutors from Fachhochschule Dortmund are assigned to the schools.
Preliminary course in mathematics
The Extended Preparatory Course is an additional option for students who, for example, missed their faculty's preparatory course.
