Book substitute

In the event of severe damage, the last borrower will be asked to replace the affected medium. This is the case if it is discovered when the medium is returned that

• Parts are missing, e.g.
  - cover
  - pages or printed parts of pages
• the information content is impaired, e.g. by
  - stains covering text and/or illustrations
  - blackening that cannot be removed
• handling is impaired, e.g. by
  - pages sticking together
  - a sticky cover
  - non-removable crossings out, markings or marginalia on several pages
• the external appearance has been impaired in a way that is unacceptable for subsequent users, e.g. by
  - food residue that cannot be removed
  - curled pages due to spilled liquids

In addition, lost media must be replaced.

Please contact the library staff if you need to replace a book. A loss or damage report form will be issued for you to sign.

There are two options for obtaining a replacement copy:

1. Procurement by the library:
   In this case, we will charge you the purchase price plus an administration fee of 25 euros.
2. Procurement by yourself:
   We will allow you a period of 3 weeks to do this. In addition to new replacement copies, we also accept used copies in mint condition.
