Profile

Dealing with housing and homelessness is one of the classic fields of research and action in social work. The project group offers empirical research on the topic, but also develops models of "good practice" in cooperation with partners from science and practice and offers corresponding courses.

Goals

The project group pursues the following objectives:

  • Carrying out empirical and theoretical research on the subject area
  • Practical developments in cooperation with partners from science and practice
  • Regular courses in the Social Work study program
  • Support for student research on the topic
  • Development of empowerment offers for affected persons
  • Regular publication of research results

Ongoing projects

The following project lines are currently offered:

  • Scientific study on the homelessness of Roma and Romnja in Dortmund on behalf of the Freudenberg Foundation
  • Scientific study (dissertation project) focusing on discrimination against homeless people in cooperation with Freiburg University of Applied Sciences
  • Several courses and teaching research offers in the Social Work study program
  • Publication of a handbook on the topic by VS-Springer Verlag
    Publication of specialist articles
  • Supervision of final theses
