CAD workstations: open 24 hours a day
CNC machines: 2 days per week under the supervision of the student assistant

Profile

3D design on CAD programs: Vektorworks, Rhino, Cinema4D; cutting and milling of model parts and patterns made of cardboard, wood, metal; printing of paper or fabric banners for exhibitions and trade fairs; production of adhesive lettering and logos for exhibitions and trade fairs

Competencies:
Conversion of virtual 3D spaces and objects into tactile and visually appealing models and sample objects;
Knowledge and application of CNC manufacturing options;
Structured CAD design compatible with CNC production;
Testing of large-scale displays in spatial contexts;
Testing typographic elements as eye-catchers on walls, display cases, etc.

Arnim Kamps, teacher for special tasks, teaches the 3D CAD programs, a student assistant supervises the CNC production.

Equipment

  • 30 computer workstations (Mac) in the CIP pool
  • 4 computer workstations (Win)
  • 1 CNC cutting/milling plotter (DinA0, cardboard, wood, plastic, aluminum up to 5mm)
  • 1 CNC foil plotter (up to 60cm roll width)
  • 1 CNC cutting laser
  • 1 banner plotter (6-color printing, single sheet and roll 60cm, fabric up to 2mm)
