Profile

The 3D printing lab is one of the labs available at the Faculty of Architecture. It is part of the Building Materials Technology, Material Cycles and Innovative Materials and Digital Methods in Architecture teaching areas and the DMA Innovation Lab located there. In cooperation with the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts and with the help of university funds, the existing equipment in the 3D printing lab was supplemented in 2017. These are now divided between two faculty locations. In addition, the research association AMRU (ADDITIVE MANUFACTURING RESEARCH UNIT) has developed from this cooperation. Students at Fachhochschule Dortmund have the opportunity to additively manufacture the complex digital models they have created from various materials.
