International management is an indispensable part of successful, multinational companies - regardless of the industry, size and location. The Master's program in International Management teaches leadership and management skills with a special focus on internationalization, technological change and sustainability.

Projects and practice in General Management and International Management
The two-semester study program is internationally, project- and practice-oriented. It offers specializations in the following fields: Corporate Sustainability, Human Resource Management, Managing Global Business Projects, International Taxation & International Accounting, Supply Chain Process Improvements and Options, futures & other derivatives as well as current topics of international management.
The study program lays the foundation for a career in senior management in companies and organizations operating nationally and internationally or in public administration. You will acquire the technical, methodical, social and leading skills you need to master strategic and international challenges.
The study program International Management prepares you for tasks in multinational companies. Multicultural and international aspects of business administration and corporate management are particularly taken into account.
You will regularly work in small groups to acquire new knowledge independently, thereby practicing how to work in teams and to develop solutions autonomously and to apply numerous learning methods. You will give papers and presentations.
Master of Arts prepares you for tasks in Senior Management
After successfully completing the study program, you will be awarded the degree Master of Arts (M.A.).

The Master's program in International Management suits you if you enjoy networked thinking, analysis and planning in an international environment and if you already have a sound basic knowledge of business administration, are interested in economic developments and have a high level of commitment.
Initial practical experience can make it easier to cope with the demanding study program. English language skills are required. Applicants must prove that they have language skills above C1 level, as this study program is taught in English.
Communication and social skills are a prerequisite, as working in a team is standard in this professional field.

Cooperative Promotion

Graduates who wish to acquire further academic qualifications have the opportunity to pursue a doctoral degree at a university through a cooperative doctorate in which Fachhochschule Dortmund – University of Applied Sciences and Arts cooperates with a university.
What do I need?
1. Required degree
Diplom or a Bachelor’s degree in the field of Business Science or in a study program closely related to the Master’s program International Management at a university of applied sciences (Fachhochschule) or a university, or the completion of a corresponding accredited Bachelor’s qualification program at a university of cooperative education (Berufsakademie) with an overall grade of minimum “good” (1.9).
The qualifying study program must have imparted the relevant skills in the fields of business administration or economics to the extent of at least 75% of the total volume at the required level.
In addition, the study program must be composed of a minimum of 240 credit points in accordance with the European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS). Degrees obtained outside the ECTS system must be converted into the ECTS system.
2. Proof of English language skills
Proof of sufficient English skills provided by a TOEFL-ITP test with at least 550 points or a TOEFL-iBT test amounting to a minimum of 90 points passed within the two years before the application was submitted. The proof may be also provided by other test methods equivalent to the TOEFL test in accordance with the European Framework of Reference (e. g. IELTS with at least 6.5 points). The Expert Committee decides whether equivalence has been proved.
For the examination of the admission requirements, the examination board forms a "Commission for the Assessment of the Admission Requirements for the Master's Programs MA BM, MSc FACT and MSc FACT - Controlling & Digitalisierung". The board of examiners can also appoint professors and academic staff members who are not members of the board of examiners as members of the commission.

The study program starts every winter semester. The courses are offered every year. University places are allocated by Fachhochschule Dortmund - University of Applied Sciences and Arts. Admission to the Master‘s program is restricted.
