Governance

Governance is intended to provide the legal and factual framework for managing and monitoring an organization. Particularly in the case of new challenges, such as the socio-ecological transformation, such controls are important in order to create a sustainable institution.

Major societal challenges such as climate change, global digitalization, migration and integration, equal opportunities, demographic change, the environment and health, energy and the responsible use of resources are fundamentally changing the way we view universities and their importance. Universities can and must make an important contribution here so that awareness and skills regarding a sustainable way of life are introduced in all areas of the university, teaching, research and transfer, in their operations themselves and in the university as a living space. The necessary information must be made available in every area, participation formats must be offered for implementation, skills must be trained and overall sustainability must be implemented as a cross-sectional task.
