Faculty of Architecture

Architecture as a field of study conveys and teaches the application-related content of this discipline based on scientific, technical and artistic bodies of knowledge and methods.

Students acquire qualifications for all fields of activity in construction engineering and planning, from design to construction management and supervision. In study projects and degree theses, current construction projects such as modernization and conversion work on existing buildings, the application of novel supporting structures or concepts for ecological construction forms are dealt with in collaboration with persons, corporations or institutions.

Students of architecture receive hands-on experience in architectural and planning offices, building authorities, construction companies, building societies, planning, construction and development departments of companies and associations as well as in scientific facilities and institutions.

Architecture offers an 8-semester Bachelor's course. Holders of this degree with two years' professional practice are eligible for membership of the Chamber of Architects, which qualifies them to render and submit construction plans to the authorities. The Department of Architecture offers the Master's degree in metal building shells.


Unless otherwise stated, the language of instructions is German!

Should you be interested in enrolling in a Study Programme with German as the language of instruction you will need to have proof of German proficiency on an B1 level in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages. Please attach your Language Certificate to your application.
