Faculty of Applied Social Studies

Studies of Applied Social Studies prepare students for diverse activities in the social sector. For instance, social workers are engaged in family welfare, in youth, geriatric and general healthcare and social welfare services, in the criminal justice system or in-company social work, as well as in counseling services and educational institutions.

The fields of activity and target groups in social work are just as diverse as the concepts of how theory is put into daily practice. This is taken into account in terms of the wide range of studies available in such fields as law, sociology, social medicine, politics or administration and organization. They also advise, accompany, support and take care of people in more than 30 vocational fields covering healthcare, youth and social welfare. Work with families, children, youths and senior citizens forms a part of these activities along with taking care of group problems.
