Seniorenpatenschaften/ Senior Mentoring Programme for International Master Students

in Cooperation with TU Dortmund

Are you an international Masterstudent at Fachhochschule Dortmund (Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts) or are you an international student at TU Dortmund University? Would you like have more contact to Germans and German families – on as well as off campus?

The Senior Mentoring Programme (Senioren-Patenschaften) gives you the opportunity of meeting a senior mentor and learning more about German culture. This programme is not a homestay programme - you will join your mentor in many different activities, excursions, trips, museum visits and more which helps you to familiarise with everyday life in Germany and get to know the region of Dortmund and Ruhr Area even better. Through regular meetings the mentors can also help you improve your German language skills as well as support you for written papers (grammar, etc.).

You are also welcome to meet your mentor apart from the official meetings to get a better understanding of the other culture.

If you are interested do not hesitate to join this programme! The senior mentors (and other students) are looking forward to seeing you there!

How do I find a mentor and get contact with them?

Just drop in during the meetings:

When: every Thursday, 2 - 5.30 pm (only during the lecture period, not in Semester break)
Where:  International Meeting Center (IBZ), Emil-Figge-Str. 59, Campus Nord, room 1 (on the left)

First meeting in summer term 2019 is on Thursday, 04.04.2019!

Here you can get to know the seniors and the participating students . During the meeting you will receive a contact sheet which you must fill in and you will be helped to find a matching senior mentor for you!

We appreciate your interest and invite you to participate this great programme!

You can find more information about the senior mentornig programme and the contact to the responsible person on the website of TU Dortmund as well as in the flyer on the right side.
