With the goal of promoting junior researchers, recognizing excellent research achievements of early-stage researchers and increasing the visibility of research results beyond our university, starting in 2022, Fachhochschule Dortmund will award an annual dissertation prize of €1,000 sponsored by the association Fördergesellschaft der Fachhochschule Dortmund(Opens in a new tab) honoring an outstanding cooperative doctorate completed in various faculties at Fachhochschule Dortmund.

Qualification for the award
The current call for applications is aimed at researchers who have completed an excellent cooperative doctorate in German or English under the supervision of a professor of Fachhochschule Dortmund. The prize will be awarded to doctoral students who defended their theses in 2022.
Doctoral students can apply for the award either after being recommended by their thesis supervisor or independently. You must have completed your doctoral studies with the minimum level of honor “magna cum laude”.
As a prerequisite for application, you must register at the Graduate Center of Fachhochschule Dortmund(Opens in a new tab) . However, you can also register during the application process. Review process
The review process follows a three-stage procedure: After the formal review by the Graduate Center of Fachhochschule Dortmund, the Senate Commission for Research, Development and Transfer (KII)(Opens in a new tab) will make a pre-selection. The prize will be awarded by a distinguished jury consisting of representatives from universities, universities of applied sciences, research institutes and associations.
