About the project

The aims of the ManDEE project are to comprehensively digitalize the three international Master’s programs “European Master in Project Management (EuroMPM)”, “Digital Transformation (MDT)” and “Embedded Systems for Mechatronics (ESM)” as well as the related international consortium “European Partnership for Project and Innovation Management – EuroPIM” and to supplement them with the topic of “Managing the Digital Transformation”. For this purpose, a Digital Education Ecosystem (DEE) will be developed, which will facilitate the setting up of a virtual, cross-border Master School.

A new joint module portfolio in the area of “Managing the Digital Transformation”, comprising digital elements (as customizable Open Educational Resources (OER), units with personal attendance (e.g., as practical, team or project phases) and individual (e.g., academic/reflective) work will ease integration. The e-learning systems of the partner universities will be linked via a common identity management system (the E-Learning Community Server, ECS). The development of a “Competence Model for the Digital Transformation (CMDT)” forms the basis for joint training.

For the didactic model of the virtual Master School, lecturers’ methodical know-how as well as their media and didactic skills will be built up through train-the-trainer courses (TtT) and co-teaching, but above all through the setting up of open communities of practice (OpenCoPs in the sense of maker communities), and made accessible via the consortium’s open innovation portal. To implement the service-oriented digital infrastructures for transnational teaching, the following are planned: development of an exchange platform for student data in ELMO format (compatible with EMREX), integration of Erasmus Without Paper (EWP) with the SOP system for student mobility, development of two new plug-ins for the e-learning system (Student Journey Configurator, Mobility Planner), a digital tool for the management of competence profiles and a cooperation platform for the OpenCoPs. An IT Technology Steward will assist with the introduction and training of users. This gives lecturers the possibility to develop and offer their course materials in teams across borders and disciplines. Students can individualize their studies and choose between physical and virtual mobility, depending on their particular circumstances. The overall outcome will be a highly interactive and integrated ecosystem, which produces learning situations that mirror the project-oriented, interdisciplinary, and international world of work. The tools, concepts, and results from the evaluation of the Digital Education Ecosystem (DEE) will be made available via various channels, creating a blueprint that can be easily adapted for other configurations of internationally networked study programs.
