BA Communication Design (7 Semesters)

The Communications Design bachelor programme is a contemporary, project-based course with orientation towards practical application. A core subject can be selected. All of the significant areas of communication design are covered as well as the requirements and tasks connected to them. The course portfolio factors in dynamic changes and challenges in practical media application and conveys knowledge on theoretical, methodical and practical skills on the visualisation and mediation of content in the fields of art, culture, science, economy and ecology.

Teaching is partly carried out in the form of class projects and in cooperation with the other BA programmes offered by the department and also occurs in cooperation with external institutions and organisations. Special attention is paid to maintaining ways of cooperative communication with all parties involved, to national and international exchange as well as to taking gender aspects into consideration at all times.

The programme’s excellent resources (staff and material) allows for a multifaceted specialisation in several areas such as book or editorial design, typography, corporate design & communication, interaction design, illustration or social graphic design.

The COMMUNICATION DESIGN bachelor programme lasts 7 semesters and is completed with an exam for the Bachelor of Arts degree.
