In the focus of the research and development activities of the Intelligent Mobile Systems Lab stands the application centered localisation of mobile systems using radio based technologies like Wireless LAN, Wireless sensor networks, and RFID. One of our major strength is the customer orientated development of hardware and software. The localisation of automated guided vehicles and mobile robots using radio based technologies is just one example of the current research and development activities of the IMSL. Our current business partners are operating in the field of automotive, automation, logistics, and ambient assisted living. Being part of the research and development group ”Mobile Business - Mobile Systems“ of the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Dortmund, gives us the possibility to finish research and development projects fast and with high competence in cooperation with other research institutes and companies located at the Ruhr metropolitan area and whole Germany.

The IMSL team works on innovative solutions for your research and development problems. We develop, implement and optimise technologies and products up to the prototype state or even small batches. Before you commit to a concrete research cooperation or a specific technology we can offer you our counsel service containing feasibility studies, market research and information about founding possibilities. The researchers of the Intelligent Mobile Systems Lab are also available for research projects founded by third parties. With our connections to possible research project partners in the research and economic worlds, we are even able to commit to large scale research projects requiring more than two parties.
