Welcome to the homepage of the library!

The library of the Fachhochschule Dortmund provides in four small to medium sized sites access to the printed and electronic information needed for teaching and learning purposes of the departments of the University of applied sciences and arts.

The printed stock of all four sites comprises about 140000 books and bound volumes of periodicals in the areas archicture, art and design, electrical and mechanical engineering, computer sciences, applied social sciences and business studies. The focus lies on current publications! The electronic information covers the same areas in specialised bibliographical and factual databanks and e-books.

To navigate the online catalogue and access the electronic information of the library, you must have a fundamental knowledge of German since most of our stock is in German. This does not apply to many of our databanks and some of our e-books.

If you need any assistance using the searchtools or the basic services (registering for a library card, borrowing, interlibrary loan etc) please contact any of our staff at the issueing counters. They will be able to help you or guide you to a person who can! If you want to access our services from outside the library sites you will have to contact the computer-centre of the Fachhochschule and apply for a VPN connection.
